More and more communities want to implement Smart Growth. As a Realtor I respect their concern to foster the traditional character of New England neighborhoods, villages and downtowns by encouraging development that is comfortable for pedestrians and conducive to community life.

As a member of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, I followed the series of Planned Housing Development which were held in the Greater Concord area in 2003 and actively participated in their discussions.

Smart Growth incorporates a mix of uses: by providing a variety of housing, employment, shopping, services and social opportunities for all members of the community.

I also believe in protecting the environment by minimizing impacts from human activities and planning for and maintaining natural areas that contribute to the health and quality of life of the communities and people of New Hampshire.

The development of Bela Brook Estates, in Concord exemplifies such commitment to Smart Growth. In this sub-division 90 of its 132 acres have been kept in conservation and the neighborhood has been surrounded with environmentally friendly walking trails.
